क्षेत्रस्य पतिना वयं हितेनेव जयामसि।
गामश्वं पोषयित्न्वा स नो मृळातीदृशे॥१॥

kṣetrasya patinā vayaṃ hiteneva jayāmasi।
gāmaśvaṃ poṣayitnvā sa no mṛḻātīdṛśe॥1॥

हम क्षेत्र के स्वामी (अर्थात क्षेत्र के स्वामी) का आह्वान करते हैं, जिनकी कृपा से हम वास्तव में समृद्ध होते हैं, वे अपनी कृपा दृष्टि से हमारे मवेशियों और घोड़ों को बढ़ा सकते हैं।

We invoke the lord of the kshetra (i.e. lord of the field) by whose grace indeed we prosper, may he through his gracious look increase our cattle and horses.

क्षेत्रस्य पते मधुमन्तमूर्मिं धेनुरिव पयो अस्मासु धुक्ष्व।
मधुश्चुतं घृतमिव सुपूतमृतस्य नः पतयो मृळयन्तु॥२॥

kṣetrasya pate madhumantamūrmiṃ dhenuriva payo asmāsu dhukṣva।
madhuścutaṃ ghṛtamiva supūtamṛtasya naḥ patayo mṛḻayantu॥2॥

हे क्षेत्र (क्षेत्र के स्वामी), माँ प्रकृति के आशीर्वाद की मीठी लहरों के साथ, आप हमारे खेतों को गाय के दूध (यानी प्रचुर मात्रा में फसल) की तरह दूध दे सकते हैं, रीता की मिठास (मां प्रकृति का दिव्य कानून प्रदान करने वाला) जो घी के समान गिरता है, आप हम पर कृपा करें।

O lord of the kshetra (field), with the sweet waves of mother nature’s blessings, may you milk our fields like the milk of a cow (i.e. yield abundant harvest), with the sweetness of rita (mother nature’s divine law confering bounty), which falls like clarified butter, may you shed your grace on us.

मधुमतीरोषधीर्द्याव आपो मधुमन्नो भवत्वन्तरिक्षम्।
क्षेत्रस्य पतिर्मधुमान्नो अस्त्वरिष्यन्तो अन्वेनं चरेम॥३॥

madhumatīroṣadhīrdyāva āpo madhumanno bhavatvantarikṣam।
kṣetrasya patirmadhumānno astvariṣyanto anvenaṃ carema॥3॥

पौधे मधुर हों (अर्थात प्रकृति की पवित्रता से परिपूर्ण), आकाश मधुर (अर्थात प्रकृति की पवित्रता से परिपूर्ण), जल मधुर (अर्थात् प्रकृति की पवित्रता से परिपूर्ण), और स्थान मधुर (अर्थात प्रकृति की पवित्रता से परिपूर्ण) हो। पवित्रता) हमारे लिए। क्षेत्र (क्षेत्र) के स्वामी हमारे लिए मधुर हों, और हम उनके समर्पित अनुयायी हों (अर्थात प्रकृति की उदारता और समृद्धि का सहारा लें)।

May the plants be sweet (i.e. filled with nature’s purity), may the sky be sweet (i.e. filled with nature’s purity), may the waters be sweet (i.e. filled with nature’s purity), and may the space be sweet (i.e. filled with nature’s purity) to us. May the lord of the kshetra (field) be sweet to us, and may we be devoted followers of him (i.e. take recourse to nature’s bounty and prosper).

शुनं वाहाः शुनं नरः शुनं कृषतु लाङ्गलम्। शुनं वरत्रा बध्यन्तां शुनमष्ट्रामुदिङ्गय॥४॥

śunaṃ vāhāḥ śunaṃ naraḥ śunaṃ kṛṣatu lāṅgalam। śunaṃ varatrā badhyantāṃ śunamaṣṭrāmudiṅgaya॥4॥

हल चलाने वाले बैल सभी के लिए कल्याण और समृद्धि लाए, बैलों को चलाने वाला किसान सभी के लिए कल्याण और समृद्धि लाए, हल बनाने वाला हल सभी के लिए कल्याण और समृद्धि लाए, हल को बांधने वाला पट्टा सभी के लिए कल्याण और समृद्धि लाए , और बैलों की ओर झूलता हुआ बकरा सभी के लिए कल्याण और समृद्धि लाए।

May the oxen drawing the plough bring welfare and prosperity to all, may the farmer driving the oxen bring welfare and prosperity to all, may the plough making furrows bring welfare and prosperity to all, may the strap binding the plough bring welfare and prosperity to all, and may the goad swinging towards the oxen bring welfare and prosperity to all.

शुनासीराविमां वाचं जुषेथां यद्दिवि चक्रथुः पयः।
तेनेमामुप सिञ्चतम्॥५॥

śunāsīrāvimāṃ vācaṃ juṣethāṃ yaddivi cakrathuḥ payaḥ।
tenemāmupa siñcatam॥5॥

शुना और शीरा (किसानों के देवता) जिन्होंने आकाश में पानी (यानी बादल) बनाया, हमारी प्रार्थनाओं से प्रसन्न हों, और इससे (अर्थात बादलों द्वारा), (वे हमारे खेतों में बारिश के रूप में) पानी छिड़कें।

May Shuna and Shira (deities of the farmers) who created waters (i.e. clouds) in the sky be pleased with our prayers, and by it (i.e. by the clouds), (may they) sprinkle waters (in our fields as rains).

अर्वाची सुभगे भव सीते वन्दामहे त्वा।
यथा नः सुभगाससि यथा नः सुफलाससि॥६॥

arvācī subhage bhava sīte vandāmahe tvā।
yathā naḥ subhagāsasi yathā naḥ suphalāsasi॥6॥

हे देवी सीता, हमारी ओर मुड़ो और दया करो, हम आपकी प्रशंसा करते हैं और आपकी पूजा करते हैं। यह ऋग्वेद की सीता है जो रामायण से बहुत पहले की है। ताकि आप हमारे लिए (अपना आशीर्वाद बरसाकर) अनुकूल हो जाएं, ताकि आप प्रचुर मात्रा में फसल का स्रोत बन जाएं।

O devi Sita, turn towards us and be gracious, we extol and worship you. This is Sita of Rig veda which is much earlier than Ramayana. So that you become favourable to us (by showering your blessings), so that you become the source of abundant harvest.

इन्द्रः सीतां नि गृह्णातु तां पूषानु यच्छतु।
सा नः पयस्वती दुहामुत्तरामुत्तरां समाम्॥७॥

indraḥ sītāṃ ni gṛhṇātu tāṃ pūṣānu yacchatu।
sā naḥ payasvatī duhāmuttarāmuttarāṃ samām॥7॥

इंद्र (जब हम हल चलाते हैं) खांचे को पकड़ लें, और पुषन उसे बनाए रखें (यानी फरो को बनाए रखें), क्या वह (यानी धरती माता) जो दूध से भरी है, हमें साल-दर-साल प्रचुर मात्रा में फसल दे सकती है।

May Indra take hold of the furrows (while we plough), and may pushan sustain her (i.e sustain the furrows), may she (i.e. mother earth) who is full of milk, yield us abundant crops year after year.

शुनं नः फाला वि कृषन्तु भूमिं शुनं कीनाशा अभि यन्तु वाहैः।
शुनं पर्जन्यो मधुना पयोभीः शुनासीरा शुनमस्मासु धत्तम्॥८॥

śunaṃ naḥ phālā vi kṛṣantu bhūmiṃ śunaṃ kīnāśā abhi yantu vāhaiḥ।
śunaṃ parjanyo madhunā payobhīḥ śunāsīrā śunamasmāsu dhattam॥8॥

धरती पर हल के हिस्से में फरो बनाने वाले सभी के लिए कल्याण और समृद्धि लाए, बैलों को चलाने वाला किसान सभी के लिए कल्याण और समृद्धि लाए, परजन्य (वर्षा देवता) मीठी बारिश (यानी शुद्ध वर्षा जल) कल्याण और समृद्धि लाए सभी के लिए, और शुना और शिरा हम सभी को कल्याण और समृद्धि प्रदान करें।

May the plough share making furrows on the earth bring welfare and prosperity to all, may the farmer driving the oxen bring welfare and prosperity to all, may parjanya (the rain god) by giving sweet rains (i.e. pure rain waters) bring welfare and prosperity to all, and may Shuna and Shira bestow welfare and prosperity to all of us.
